Although sophomore QB Austin Dantin will miss Tuesday's showdown at Northern Illinois, which will likely decide the MAC West Division, other news on the injury front is a lot more promising for the Rockets.
Coach Tim Beckman said yesterday that freshman RB David Fluellen could return against the Huskies from a knee injury that suffered Oct. 9 at Boise State. Beckman called Fluellen "questionable" to play, because today will be the first time he practices in pads since the injury, and the coaches aren't sure how his knee will respond in game-like situations.
Beckman also said that sophomore LB Robert Bell has been cleared to return to the field after recovering from an injury. Bell is a significant contributor on special teams and provides the Rockets with some much needed depth in the linebacking corps.
