Overheard on the scanner:

Officers on scene of an unruly child; the mother apparently slammed the door in the officers' faces.

Officer: "She just wants me to wave a magic wand and make it go away."

Someone else: "Unfortunately we weren't issued those in the academy as official equipment."

Overheard on the scanner:

As officers are directing traffic:

"I think we need to send a memo that, when a police officer tells you to go, you don't need to stop and look. We're telling you to go."

-A frustrated-sounding officer

Overheard on the scanner:

'He had a small amount and said it was legal. He said it was organic weed, whatever that is.'

 

Overheard on the scanner:

I heard this light-hearted exchange yesterday afternoon and it made me giggle:

Officer 1: 'He says he's allowed to leave school but I don't know about that.'

Officer 2: 'He's not' *laughs*

Officer 1: 'Spank him for me and I'll come take care of the bike.'

 

*Note, no word that any teenagers were spanked by Toledo police officers yesterday

"You get all the angry females. That's your job."

"Unless you've got a magic wand, can you call somebody to open this gate so we can get in here?"

Overheard on the Toledo police scanner on Oct. 17  after police stopped a rental car and found drugs inside:

"The guy says he's studying to be a pharmacy assistant. Go figure."
