Police recover 16 shell casings from shooting scene

Toledo police report that they found 16 shell casings Wednesday evening while responding to a report of shots fired.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Joffre Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers who responded each found eight shell casings in front of 2035 Joffre and 2044 Joffre.

Witnesses told officers that "a group of men were shooting at each other."

A vehicle parked near the shootout was struck in the windshield by one round. No injuries were reported.

Police, in a report, said they identified two males involved in the shooting, but neither has been charged. One was arrested about 15 minutes after the shooting was reported; he is being held in the Lucas County jail on numerous traffic warrants.
