A super huge thank you to Alia Orra, Toledo City Paper's assignment editor, for nominating me as a "Big Idea Toledoan."
I am in really incredible company in the current issue of The City Paper, which officially hit stands today.
Alia calls me a "redefiner" for the work I do here at The Blade and my use of this blog and social media as part of my daily reporting.
When she first e-mailed me around Thanksgiving asking if I'd be a willing participant I almost thought I was being Punk'd. (Not that I'd mind a surprise visit from Ashton. Just sayin'.)
Anyway, the write-up is really cool and I'm honored/still a little shocked/overwhelmed by the support/and really excited.
So thank you, Alia and Toledo City Paper. You guys rock.
You can see the entire issue online here.

A well deserved honor! Ride Along is the best part of toledoblade.com.

Agree, that this is the most fun to read. I travel all over and have noticed several papers trying to do this, but yours is always one of the best. There is a very popular local crime blog/paper in Columbus MS, called the Packet. Very snarky and funny.
And who knew how pretty you were!?! Keep it up.
