I was listening to the scanner yesterday afternoon, trying to decipher what in the world officers were doing chasing a couple people around downtown Toledo.
They were on Adams Street. They were on Michigan. Near the Lucas County Common Pleas Court House. Then, finally, in a parking lot near St. John's Lutheran Church.
That's right behind City Grill where my friend, George, works. I called him up, said, "George, get outside, police are chasing someone in the parking lot."

He quickly abandoned the tater tots he had cooking for some lunchtime noms (don't worry, another colleague of his kept watch), and ran outside.
"Guy with gun," was the next thing I got from him via text message.
"Oh [crap]. Take a pic," I responded.
George got some pretty good pictures before we got out there, so I want to share and, again, thank George for running out there:

Hmmm. Like the picture. Usually pics like that don't make it through the political correctness filter at the blade "news" room. Not nice to show who 80% of Toledo's violent crime is coming from. Of course, somebody who spends so much time in downtown Toledo certainly has seen the cause of an obscenely disproportionate level of violent crime and would then relay such critical public safety information to the public, and not hide it for fear of offending the criminals and the community that covers for them
