The Mexican Consular Juan Manuel Solana Morales and immigration attorneys for Advocates for Basic Legal Equality will explain rights and benefits available to people seeking permanent residency during an event at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center, Inc. from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4.
Free food and beverages will also be served during the monthly event which is formally known as “First Friday.” The event is an opportunity for Latinos and non-Latinos to network and celebrate the Latino culture, organizers say. A different topic or issue is addressed each month.
Staff from the Mexican Consulate’s Detroit headquarters will be on hand to help people renew their visas and answer any other questions related to their stay in the United States.
Attorney’s from ABLE – Advocates for Basic Legal Equality – will discuss the latest developments in immigration law and explain to people what rights they do have regardless of their citizenship status.
The event is open to the public.
