The pups will celebrate their 8-week birthday on May 12. That means the end is near for me and my husband caring for them.
Applications have been coming in for all the pups. If you are interested in applying for one of them or Nellie, please email Jean Keating at canineadvocate1@yahoo.com. The rescue does not adopt out "first come, first serve." We are trying to find the best homes that have the most time and the best environments to care for puppies, who have lots of energy and need lots of attention.
Nellie and all eight pups will make their "public debut" the same day at the Lucas County Pit Crew's First Annual Run With The Bulls 5K Run/Walk at Secor Metropark's Lone Oak Shelter, 10001 Central Ave. You don't have to participate in the run/walk to come out and see the pups and the other adoptable dogs currently available through the Pit Crew.
As a precaution to make sure they don't catch any cooties, the pups will be in cages and stay in the cages unless they are being held. Their little paws will not touch the public grass where other dogs have been.
They have been enjoying the grass in my backyard, but that's the only grass they get to see until they have had all their shots and are fully protected against any contagious canine diseases.

Beautiful photos!
