Here's a great secret: Sylvania has a wonderful library.
I've been going to the library a few times a week for about three months now and seeing that there has been an increase in patron traffic, I'm starting to think it's not that big of a secret anymore.
“Sylvania is the busiest Toledo-Lucas County Public Library branch in terms of circulation and reference questions,” according to the library website. Did you know?
Sure, school is out of session, but if the quote says anything, it reveals that Sylvania residents sure do like to read.
In case you need more motivation to check out the branch, here's a little useful library information.
Four reasons why it's worth it to go to the library:
-You get access to what you want to read, even if you can't afford to buy the book from a traditional retailer. Rent it stress-free with your library card, without putting a dent in your wallet.
-Special programs: the library offers programming for kids, teens and adults. (From making smores to organizing book clubs, the Sylvania branch has options for everyone).
-Meeting space: the meeting rooms can be used by community groups.
-Access to reference information and searches that you might not have at home, like databases and digital collections.
The Sylvania Branch library is located at 6749 Monroe Street. Visit www.toledolibrary.org for a list of programs and other information.
