TEMPE, Ariz. - As Shane Morris has reminded us on Twitter this morning, yes, it's game day.
Game day— Shane Morris (@ShaneMorris_7) December 28, 2013
And, yes, tonight's Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl will either be the uplifting end that the Michigan football team needs or a whimper to the end of the season after the Wolverines staggered through November.
Morris has had a month to prepare for this opportunity to prove himself, and the offensive line has had the chance to grow up some ... without getting beaten up a lot.
The main focus tonight is clear: How will a freshman quarterback stack up in his first start?
If Morris can show that he is competent as a starter, it will give the football program insurance and a building block - Devin Gardner will have a worthy backup next season (unless a fantastic start creates a quarterback controversy for the spring) and little doubt will surround the future of the position.
A few more thoughts from Arizona ...
Drivers here are either too aggressive or not aggressive enough.
Many of the Kansas State fans I've met here have either been current students. Or senior citizens.
Found out yesterday while jogging that this is definitely a dry heat.
