- Second through fourth seeds: The first tiebreaker is head-to-head record. Akron beat Ball State but lost to Central Michigan (1-1); Ball State swept Central Michigan and lost to Akron (2-1); Central Michigan beat Akron but lost to Ball State twice (1-2). Based on winning percentage, it's Ball State as the second seed (.667), Akron as the third seed (.500) and Central Michigan as the fourth seed (.333).
- Eighth and ninth seeds: Eastern Michigan swept two games against Western Michigan to win the tiebreaker.
- Eleventh and twelveth seeds: This came down to a coin flip because the tie could not be broken, and Ohio won the coin flip to become the 11th seed. Since Kent State lost, it was the 12th seed.
