BY THE NUMBERS: The Orlando Sentinel gave its inaugural “Ironman” award to Moore, who played running back and slot receiver on offense, cornerback and safety on defense as well as returning kicks. He rushed for 939 yards and 13 touchdowns, threw for 332 yards on 21-of-32 passing, caught 29 passes for 484 yards and four TDs, and returned kicks for 371 yards and another score. Defensively he had 27 tackles and six interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Moore was named the offensive player of the year by the Orlando Touchdown Club, and he was named the MVP of the Central Florida All-Star Game.
WORTH NOTING: Moore was preparing to take a recruiting trip to Cincinnati when Butch Jones left for the job at Tennessee. … His brother, Ron Moore Jr., plays at Tennessee-Chattanooga.
