A look at BG Olympic sports – Jan. 3

Here’s a look at BG Olympic sports entering the weekend, which includes the start of the home gymnastics season …

GYMNASTICS: The Falcons will open their season with a dual match against Ohio State at Anderson Arena on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, starting at 4 p.m. Bowling Green was picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference, according to a pre-season poll taken of the league’s coaches.

SWIMMING: The Falcons return to dual-meet action when they swim at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 12 starting at 1 p.m.

TRACK: The Falcons will open the indoor season with the Bowling Green Opener on Saturday, Jan. 12, to be held at Perry Field House. BG opened the season at the Eastern Michigan Holiday Eagle Meet on Dec. 7. The Falcons finished fourth as a team, with sophomore Brooke Plegar winning the weight throw with a best toss of 59-8.25.
