I've got a lot of stuff on my plate today, so this may not be updated until later tonight. But here is the injury report for the Falcons as they prepare for Saturday's game at Akron.
- The Falcons enter that contest relatively healthy except at two positions, wide receiver and defensive tackle. The good news is that many of BG’s injured receivers are expected to return Saturday. Coach Dave Clawson said Shaun Joplin is healthy, and both Heath Jackson and Ryan Burbrink are expected to play. Both Jackson and Burbrink were in yellow jerseys, but Jackson did take snaps with the offense.
Clawson also noted that Bart Tanski, who has not played since suffering a broken collarbone in the fall, is back on the practice field. Clawson said Tanski is doubtful for this game but definitely could play the following week.
The defensive line, which already has lost Jairus Campbell and Hunter Maynard to season-ending injuries, took another blow when Ted Ouellet left the practice field Wednesday with what appeared to be a broken nose. Clawson said he expected Ouellet to play Saturday.
Jordan Hopgood also was not on the field for practice Wednesday, but Clawson said he expects Hopgood to be available for the game against the Zips.
