Cooper caught six passes for 134 yards and four touchdowns in the Falcons' 58-13 win over Morgan State at Doyt Perry Stadium Saturday. His four TD receptions tied the school record set in 1978 by Jeff Groth against Findlay, and was one short of the MAC record five TD catches by Marshall's Randy Moss against Ball State in 1977.
Cooper leads the MAC in receiving yards per game (122.0 yards/game) and is tied with Temple's Bernard Pierce with six touchdowns scored in two games.
The award marked the second MAC honor by the Falcons this season. Junior DT Chris Jones was the league's East Division defensive player of the week following the Idaho victory.
Cooper and the Falcons host Wyoming at Doyt Perry Stadium Saturday, Sept. 17, with kickoff set for noon.
