An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at junior forward Scott Thomas.
BY THE NUMBERS: Thomas ranked among the team leaders in a variety of categories, including scoring (11.2 ppg, second on the team, 24th in the MAC), rebounds (6.7 rpg, tops on the team, seventh-best in the MAC), assists (3.47 apg, second on the team and tenth in the MAC), and steals (2.03 spg, tops on the team, third in the MAC). Thomas shot 42.1 percent from the field and 29.4 percent on 3-point shots.
WORTH NOTING: Thomas finished in double figures in points 20 times, but he only reached 20 points or better two times. He also led the Falcons in double-digit rebounding efforts (four), and led the team in double-doubles (four). Thomas also improved his scoring average in conference play, averaging 12.7 points per game (shooting a solid 46.5 percent from the field but just 28.3 percent on 3-pointers).
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: It’s hard to imagine a more well-rounded player, so I wouldn’t change much here. My only problem is with his shooting percentages; I’d like Thomas to shoot better from the field, especially from the 3-point line.
