An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at sophomore guard Luke Kraus.
BY THE NUMBERS: Kraus averaged 3.8 points per game, shooting 31.4 percent from the field and 30.7 percent from behind the 3-point arc. He averaged 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, and he ranked fifth on the team with his 24 steals.
WORTH NOTING: Kraus was undoubtedly the team leader in categories that don’t appear on a scoresheet, including floor burns from loose balls and hustle plays. Coach Louis Orr consistently considered Kraus the team’s best perimeter defender.
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: Kraus could increase his minutes on the floor if he were a more consistent 3-point threat. He showed that ability in high school, but his career 3-point shooting mark hovers around 31 percent. Kraus needs to lift his mark to match those of MAC players such as Western Michigan’s Alex Wolf (43 percent) or Akron’s Brett McClanahan (38.5 percent) or Darryl Roberts (38.2 percent).
