An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at sophomore guard Jordon Crawford.
BY THE NUMBERS: Crawford averaged 7.8 points per game, fourth on the team, and shot 41.5 percent from the field and 29.9 percent on 3-pointers. He also averaged 2.0 rebounds per game and 4.0 assists per game, tops on the team and sixth in the MAC. Crawford also had 1.76 steals per game, second on the team and fourth in the MAC.
WORTH NOTING: Crawford got better as the season wore on, especially in MAC play. In league games only he averaged 8.4 points per game, shot better from the field (43.2 percent) and from behind the arc (33.3 percent) and averaged more assists per game (5.0). … Crawford also has a strong assist-to-turnover ratio, a must for a point guard. With his 132 assists and 70 turnvers, his average of 1.89 assists per turnover was third-best in the MAC.
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: Crawford’s shooting numbers, especially from behind the arc, need to improve. If Crawford can become a better 3-point shooter, other guards will need to pick him up farther away from the basket, opening up more space for his creative drives to the lane.
