An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at sophomore forward James Erger.
BY THE NUMBERS: Erger played in 25 of BG’s 33 games, including 12 of 16 conference games, and averaged 5.9 minutes per game. He averaged 0.6 points per game, shooting 17.4 percent from the field and 6.7 percent from behind the arc. He also averaged 0.6 rebounds per game.
WORTH NOTING: Erger’s minutes were increasing at season’s end – in the Falcons last five games he played 44 minutes, or nearly nine minutes per game. Most of the time he was used as junior Scott Thomas’ back-up.
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: If Erger is to be the back-up for Thomas, he’s going to have to improve his game in a variety of areas: better shooting, especially from outside, more of a presence on the boards, quicker feet to help on defense.
