An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at junior guard Dee Brown.
BY THE NUMBERS: Brown averaged 10.4 points per game, third-best on the team and ranked 25th in the MAC. He shot 45.5 percent from the field (14th-best in the MAC) and 33.3 percent on 3-pointers. He also shot 75.3 percent from the foul line, second-best on the team and ninth-best in the MAC. He averaged 2.2 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game.
WORTH NOTING: Brown heated up offensively late in the season, reaching double figures in points in five of his last six games. He finished in double figures 17 times this past season, the third-highest total on the team. Brown also had at least 20 points in five different games, the second-highest total on the squad.
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: Brown needs to find his 3-point jumper; shooting 33.3 percent from behind the arc won’t be good enough for a guy who’s career numbers entering the season were at better than 42 percent. Returning to that fine outside shooting of years past will open the door for his dribble-drive, which should create offense for both he and his teammates.
