BG men’s hoops: Danny McElroy

An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at sophomore forward Danny McElroy.

BY THE NUMBERS: McElroy averaged 5.0 points per game, fifth on the team, and shot 43.6 percent from the field. He averaged 3.3 rebounds per game, including 40 offensive rebounds (fourth on the team). He also blocked 11 shots and had 19 steals.

WORTH NOTING: McElroy had his moments offensively, reaching double figures in five different contests, including 15 against Florida International. He also reached double figures in rebounds three times, including 11 against both Western Kentucky and Eastern Michigan.

SUMMER TO-DO LIST: McElroy is an energy guy, so fitness will be important along with consistent defense. At 6-8, McElroy needs to be a more consistent rebounder, and he needs to improve on his assist-to-turnover ratio (had just nine assists and 50 turnovers this past season).
