An analysis of the members of the BG men's basketball team, looking at freshman center Cameron Black.
BY THE NUMBERS: Black averaged 4.1 points per game, shooting 52.6 percent from the field. He averaged 3.7 rebounds per game, third-best on the team. He finished with 18 blocked shots, also third-best on the team.
WORTH NOTING: Early in the season Black started at center and had four double-digit scoring games (high of 14 vs. Albany) and three double-digit rebounding games (high of 11 at Buffalo). He also had a double-double against Albany (14 points, 10 rebounds). But once Torian Oglesby replaced him in the starting line, Black’s minutes dwindled. There were questions about Black’s health late in the season, but nothing that was a long-term worry or concern.
SUMMER TO-DO LIST: Black needs to get healthy, get stronger and get in better physical condition. He showed some solid offensive moves early in the season, as well as a decent understanding of the game. He can be a very useful low-post presence next season.
