BASEBALL: If weather permits, the Falcons will play a three-game series at Northern Illinois this weekend. The game Friday, March 25, is game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Central time, while the games Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27, are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Central time. Next Wednesday, March 30, the Falcons hope to play at Wright State starting at 6:30 p.m., while the next home series involves three games against Eastern Michigan on Friday-Sunday, April 1-3. BG currently is 6-10 this season. Brandon Howard has the top batting average on the team with a .417 mark, while Matt Pitzulo leads the team with 11 RBIs. Charles Wooten has a deceiving 1-2 record and solid 3.80 ERA in six appearances, including five starts, for the Falcons.
MEN'S GOLF: The Falcons return to action at the UK Bluegrass Invitational Saturday-Sunday, April 9-10, in Lexington, Ky.
WOMEN'S GOLF: The most-recent tournament for the Falcons was the Rio Verde Invitational, and BG placed 17th in that event. Freshman Bailey Arnold led the Falcons in that event, tying for 73rd place with a three-round total of 247. The next action for the Falcons will be the Longaberger Spring Challenge Cup on Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3, in Fishers, Ind.
GYMNASTICS: The Falcons finished fifth at the Mid-American Conference championships hosted by Central Michigan on March 19. Sophomore Danielle Wishart led BG by tying for third in the floor exercise (9.850) and tying for fourth in the vault (9.825). Junior Dawn Christman tied for fifth in the floor exercise (9.825), while senior Amber Brewer tied for seventh on the uneven parallel bars (9.750). Christman and senior Kasey Fillmore will compete in the NCAA regionals hosted by Alabama on Saturday, April 2; Christman will compete in the floor exercise, while Fillmore will compete in the all-around.
MEN'S SOCCER: The Falcons will play a limited schedule this spring, beginning with a match at Cleveland State on Saturday, March 26, starting at 4 p.m.
SOFTBALL:The next scheduled game for the Falcons is on Wednesday, March 30, when they are to play at Michigan starting at 4 p.m. BG then will host Kent State in at twinbill on Friday, April 1, starting at 1 p.m., then host single games against Buffalo on Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3, starting at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The Falcons are currently 4-12 this season. Hannah Fulk has a team-best .326 batting average while Paige Berger has four home runs and eight RBIs, both best on the team. Zada Lines is 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA in the circle for BG.
TENNIS: The Falcons open MAC play this weekend by playing a match at Buffalo on Friday, March 25, before traveling to Akron to play on Saturday, March 26. Both matches start at 1 p.m. BG currently is 9-3 this season.
TRACK: The Falcons will open the outdoor portion of their schedule by hosting the Northwest Ohio Relays at Whittaker Track on Saturday, March 26. The field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with the running events beginning at noon.
