Let’s switch from asking questions about the 2012 season focusing on the team to questions about individual players. It would be too easy to ask who led the Mud Hens in home runs (right?), so today’s question asks who finished second on the team in home runs in 2012?
The answer to Thursday’s question? One of the Mud Hens’ catchers ranked among the International League in stolen base percentage –- more specifically, he ranked among the leaders in percentage of base-stealers caught stealing. Which catcher was it? Bryan Holaday ranked fifth among IL catches by throwing out 25 of 73 would-be base-stealers, or 34.2 percent. For those wondering, Rob Brantly (since traded to the Marlins) threw out seven of 28, or 25 percent; Brad Davis threw out five of 19, or 26.3 percent; and Omir Santos threw out six of 30, or 20 percent.
Do you think you know the answer to today’s question? At the bottom of this page give us your answer in the "Post a comment" box! I'll do my best to answer as quickly as possible, and I’ll post the answer tomorrow along with another trivia question. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm thinking John Lindsey...

You are thinking correctly, Pepper. Well done.
In fact, let's expand this question a little bit ... Can we round up the top FIVE in home runs for the Hens in 2012? In order, of course. I will get you started ...
1. Brad Eldred, 24
2. John Lindsey, 15
Who finished third, fourth and fifth?

I'll try Strieby, Head and Ciriacco

OK, smart guy, can you put them in order? And guess the home-run totals?
Posted by: John_Wagner | 09/17/2012 at 01:46 PM
That was my order although I have no idea about the numbers

Pepper: Well, tried to trick you ... your order is correct.
Anyone want to guess the numbers? You know that it's less than 15 ...

13, 12 and 10
Posted by: Pepper Leach | 09/17/2012 at 04:18 PM
Close enough that I'm going to give it to you ...
1. Eldred 24
2. Lindsey 15
3. Strieby 13
4. Head 12
Ciriaco 12
Thought it was interesting that Ciriaco had that many. Kind of flew under the radar.
New question Tuesday.

The Ciriaco family has a total of 14 minor league dingers
