Back by popular demand ... In an effort to have a little fun with the Coop Scoop blog, I am producing a (mostly) daily trivia quiz called "Mud Hen Mindbender." No prize; this is just a way to get your morning moving. Ready? Here we go ...
We are close to the end of the year, so let's tackle some "last" questions, OK? Here's an easy one: who was the last Mud Hen to hit two home runs in one inning?
The answer to Monday's question? Who was the last Mud Hen to hit four home runs in a game? Alexis Gomez hit four home runs against Columbus on Aug. 7, 2008; the only other Mud Hen to turn that trick since the Hens joined the International League was Bubba Trammell, who hit four against Richmond in a 13-inning game at Skeldon Stadium on Aug. 9, 1997. No other IL team has had a four-homer game since 1977.
Do you think you know the answer to today’s question? Click on the "comments" link below and let's find out! I'll post the answer tomorrow along with another trivia question. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Eric Munson?

That didn't take long. Remember when?

2002?

You are correct ... in a game against Rochester on July 24, 2002.
Now HERE is a tough question: Only one other Mud Hen has turned this trick during the team's time in the International League. Who is that player?
HINT: He still lives in this area.

Jesus Vega?

That's a great guess ... but it happened before Jesus Vega. And it's someone who still lives in the area ...

Let's see if a hint will help us answer this question before Christmas ... Can we get a "Match" on the right answer?
Posted by: John_Wagner | 12/23/2011 at 11:10 AM
That was before my time, but your "hint" leaves me with Tom Matchick.

There you go! Matchick hit two home runs in the same inning against Richmond at Skeldon Stadium on July 1, 1967.
I'll be taking a break from Mindbenders for a few days, but I'll have something next week!
