Back by popular demand ... In an effort to have a little fun with the Coop Scoop blog, I am producing a (mostly) daily trivia quiz called "Mud Hen Mindbender." No prize; this is just a way to get your morning moving. Ready? Here we go ...
The recent roster turmoil has scrambled the Mud Hens bullpen somewhat. For the season, how many different Mud Hen pitchers have collected at least one save?
The answer to the Saturday's question? Entering this season, only one team had a winning all-time record against the Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field. What team was it? The answer was this past weekend's opponents, the Louisville Bats, who entered this year with 43-36 record against Toledo at the Hens' home for the past 10 seasons.
Do you think you know the answer to today’s question? Click on the "comments" link below and let's find out! I'll post the answer tomorrow along with another trivia question. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Ruffin, Gonzalez, Wise, Perry, Schlereth and I'm probably missing one, so I'll say 6.

John: Believe it or not, Daniel Schlereth doesn't have a save for the Hens -- didn't even have a save opportunity, for the record.
The other four pitchers you mentioned have at least one (good job on Wise, by the way).
And here's a hint: you are missing MORE than one pitcher.

Hoffman, Weinhardt and Ni to make 8?

John: Believe it or not, only one of the three guys you mentioned has a save ... and that guy only has one.
So we can move forward on the question, I'll tell you that you're just a touch high with your numeric choice.

So here's what you've got: you still don't have the total, which is "a touch below" eight pitchers.
You've named Ruffin, Gonzalez, Wise and Perry with your first guess, and one more with your second guess. And I'll help a little Weinhardt is the fifth one you have.
And one final hint: Neither of the remaining two are on the current roster. Good luck!

So the number is 7, that much I've deduced.
Ruffin, Gonzalez, Wise, Perry and Weinhardt are 5.
I'll guess Zach Simons and Brad Thomas as the other 2?

Your "deduction" is correct.
As for the pitchers ... I am IMPRESSED that you got Zach Simons. Good job! Brad Thomas is incorrect, though ... and I am amazed at the one pitcher remaining. How soon we forget ...

Duh, it's current Minnesota Twin Lester Oliveros.

Way to grind it out, John. You are correct. New question Wednesday!
