While LHP Brad Thomas may have been impressive in his most-recent performance for the Mud Hens, it came at a price.
The Tigers recalled Thomas from Toledo Wednesday after the southpaw struck out the side in one inning of work against Louisville Monday. But Thomas remains on the disabled list.
Detroit manager Jim Leyland said Thomas suffered some elbow stiffness following that inning of work Monday, and will be examined by Detroit's medical staff.
Because Thomas was on a maj0r-league rehab assignment, no juggling of the Mud Hens' 24-man roster is needed and Toledo remains at full strength.
The Hens return to Fifth Third Field on Thursday to play a pair of games against Columbus on Thursday-Friday, June 30-July 1. First pitch both nights is set for 7 p.m.
