ATHENS, Ohio - Visiting this Ohio University town Saturday, Vice President Joe Biden took a trip down memory lane to a time when he says he almost got arrested.
Biden recounted a visit to Athens in 1963 with the University of Delaware Blue Hens for a football game to "avenge a loss" in 1961.
"I came here on October 19, 1963, and we beat you Bobcats 29-12. ...
"Mr. Mayor, thank you for the passport back in the city. ... I didn't get arrested but I almost did. You students will appreciate this, men weren't allowed anywhere near the woman's dorm. I got invited into a dorm. I thought I was walking into the waitroom but I got brought into the hallway and I got escorted out very quickly by an Athens policeman. True story, unfortunately."
