Every campaign has their own count of Democratic, Republican, and independent voters in the new 9th Congressional District.
Here's the count from Graham Veysey, the Cleveland entrepreneur who has emerged from political obscurity to challenge both Marcy Kaptur and Dennis Kucinich today in the Democratic primary.
Democrats: 60,146
Republicans: 28,123
Independent: 298,436
According to Mr. Veysey, "77% of the voters in the 9th district are Independent and research indicates that over 100,000 of those independent voters would be likely to come to the polls if they knew they could vote. It is the media's duty to inform the voters of their rights and let independents know they can vote in this March 6th election."
OK, here goes: Anyone can vote today either Republican or Democrat, keeping in mind one can't vote in both parties, and the party they declare today will be their partisan registration until the next even-year primary election.
